As a gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Townsend is only a few minutes from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The town holds many events throughout the year, but the Spring Festival is one of the most unique because it honors the Appalachian history of the region through mountain music, old-style cooking and handmade crafts.

Below is a list of events scheduled.

May 2  Sons of Bluegrass Concert  at the Heritage Center

May 2-3  Two Wheel’n the Smokies at the Talley Ho Inn

May 3  Quilters Road Show at the Heritage Center
