A variety of colorful luggageEven with all the planning time in the world there is always one or two last minute items you will want to grab before you and your family begin your next exciting Smoky Mountain cabin vacation. Whether it is a pack or two of paper plates to avoid having to wash dishes, or picking up an extra pen or pencil, these last minute packing tips will ensure you and your family have everything you need during your stay in the Smokies.

Sandwich Bags

Sandwich bags are really versatile. They are a great way to portion out left overs, as well as the perfect way to transport liquids such as shampoo, soap, lotion, toothpaste, and more.

Disposable Plates, Cups, and Plasticware

Although each of our spacious Smoky Mountain cabins come fully-furnished, it is never a bad idea to pack a set of plastic utensils or plates just in case you decide to skip doing the dishes and enjoy a fun family movie night instead. Disposable dish ware is also useful if you and your family decide to enjoy a picnic or pack a snack for a hike during your vacation.

Deck of Cards

A deck of cards is a fail-safe way to prevent yourself from hearing the dreaded words “I’m bored” coming out of your kid’s mouth. Perfect for in the car or in the cabin, a deck of cards is sure to offer hours of entertainment for your children. If you kids are feeling extra ambitious, challenge them to a house of cards building content.

A Pen/ Pencil

You never know when you will need to write down a phone number or an address. Not to mention, you may need someone to keep score when playing a game of Scrabble or Spades, and you don’t want to have to pause the game to go in search for something to write with!

Bandaids

The most important ‘just in case’ item. Bandaids are always useful to have around.

A Lighter/ Matches

Just in case you decide to grill out or need an extra spark to light the fireplace or outdoor firepit, a pack of matches or a lighter is always handy.
