Our group enjoyed the cabin very much. The staff was courteous and pretty quick about getting our needs met. We had trouble getting in touch for our late check in contact for our number due to phone issues but got the info eventually and not too long after we arrived. There was an issue with the air conditioning. It was unseasonably warm for December and we couldn't get the air to come on which made it a little uncomfortable in the cabin. The main floor bedroom was pretty hot at night. We made due with other rooms by opening windows and using fans. They weren't as bad. The maintenance guys tried there best and I think there was still some kinks being worked out with new owners and the climate systems. They were courteous and worked diligently but when it seemed like it was working, it turned out to not be fixed after all. It was late and we just decided to grin and bare it since it was our last night. I know it is an expense but the owners may consider adding a ceiling fan for main level bedroom off the kitchen. That would have helped. Finally the driveway was an issue. We had a 15 passenger van and couldn't really use the drive way comfortably, we were very worried about going off the edge of the driveway because of the curve and steep grade. Even with a backup camera it was difficult. It is relatively good for normal size vehicles but large or long vehicles will have an issue turning around and leaving. So maybe a note about that for renters. We just parked our van in a cut out in the road a little below the cabin and that worked well. Again overall, high marks for staff, location, cabin and its amenities, save for the two things mentioned. Everyone had a great time. We are by no means upset, we were just s little uncomfortable at times is all. Thanks, Jock Burgess

We stayed at Above the Glades. The cabin was beautiful! Secluded, we had to really look to see any neighbors, but we still had a very nice view. Very convienant to both Pigeon Forge through the back roads and Gatlinburg. A few very minor maintenance issues, burned out bulbs in a few rooms, but nothing that kept us from enjoying our stay.

The location, cabin, check in process, etc was good. The cabin was gorgeous and clean... we loved the remote property and lovely, peaceful views from the porches. The starter packs were generous. The cabin had a lot of maintenance issues including: broken outdoor fire pit, bathroom and bedroom doors not locking, security light bulbs burned out, loose stair gripper on outdoor front steps, broken outdoor table, nail pops needing to be pounded in on basement stairs, and TV on the main floor having a blue line running down the middle of it. Maintenance did address some problems during our stay...others were left unrectified. We were surprised the bathroom to the mainfloor bedroom was not attached to the bedroom. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time before booking the cabin. It would also be nice for that mainfloor bathroom to have a shower. All in all, we had a good stay. But, being the cabin is advertised as for sleeping 11...it would be nice for increased privacy considerations to be made. It is difficult as currently set up for separate couples to feel private, especially as the upstairs bathroom has no lock and the main floor bathroom is not attached to the bedroom. A few more details listed online would be helpful to other groups to make sure the cabin met their needs. However, it was a gorgeous place, a good trip, and we're grateful for the owners sharing their lovely cabin with us.

We come to Pigeon Forge 2 to 3 times a year. We always stay with Timber Tops. We have had a couple of issues on some of our visits. The staff has always rectified any issues immediately. We will continue to stay with Timber Tops. Kari is really awesome and a pleasure to deal with.

We were very pleased with the home we rented. It was beautiful, a class above others that I looked at based on photos. Two things made it stand out in particular: the plentiful windows and the high quality of the interior materials. This was a beautiful home, not just an adequate cabin. One thing that would have been helpful is a heads up about the location of the home. We arrived late afternoon and once we made our way to the house we realized we would not want to drive the narrow, winding road and scale the steep driveway in the dark. If we had known we would have had dinner before heading up to the house.

The reservation, check in and check out process was easy and hassle free. It really set the tone for the experience which was one our family really enjoyed. The house itself is beautiful, was well prepared (clean - except for the basement closet areas - and stocked with the essentials) and was in a location that was good for all we wanted to experience. With our young children (11 and under) we rent vacation homes frequently and always try to give constructive feedback that helps the homeowners improve things that may create potential problems for other visitors. There are always a few small issues in rental properties. In this case, the small issues were the main floor bathroom window closest to the tub leaked during the rain events while we were there and has some mold forming in the top wood. The second minor issue involved several of the closet doors that need a bit of closure pin adjustments. The big issues were basically two - the lack of a nice pool and the "morning visitors". Timber Tops totes luxury rentals yet the pool speaks otherwise. It was clean but the pool itself is in need of a make-over and some cleanup. The "morning visitors" I reference were the biggest problem. They consisted of small worms (assumed to be centipedes) and small scorpions. The paperwork clearly warned us of the scorpions but we did not expect to find them in the basement literally every morning (had 8 total in our five night stay). After finding two the first morning, our kids refused to sleep in the bunk beds in the basement which was a shame as the bunk bed experience is always one they look forward to. We did not complain and simply swept the basement floor each morning because we were out most of the time. We simply adapted to the situation by not using the basement. We offer this now so that perhaps the issue can be solved before it creates a real problem for others. We want to reiterate that the experience was good and thank the homeowners for allowing others to share their beautiful vacation home. Had it not been for the basement pest issues, we would have given it 5 stars.
