This week, a special pop celebrity visited Dollywood, and had a great time while she was here! Katy Perry has taken the pop world by storm with such hits as “Firework” and “Teenage Dream”. Last week, though, Katy tackled what may be considered one of the biggest challenges of her career: Dollywood!

On June 26, 2014 Katy Perry made a visit to Dollywood, along with her team of backupdancers, to tackle the biggest thrills the Smokies have to offer. Her attraction choices mirror that of her career–high energy and thrills, as she was spotted riding Tennessee
Tornado, Thunderhead and the Wild Eagle.

While on her visit, Katy made it clear to park employees that she wanted no special
treatment. She wanted as pure a theme park experience as possible, even though she is a multi-platinum recording star. Her visit was expected, however, according to a WBIR report that can be found here: https://www.wbir.com/story/life/people/2014/06/27/katy-perry-visits-dollywood/11454729/
She also enjoyed the Southern fare from Dollywood while she was there. In a tweet dated June 27, she made mention of “tearing up Dollywood’s turkey legs.” Katy was spotted eating at Aunt Granny’s buffet while she was in the park, which offers traditional Southern standards such as turkey legs and bbq.
