On April 15 and May 15, you can see the National Park in a different light on an easy two mile night walk. The Cades Cove Full Moon Walk begins at the Orientation Shelter at the entrance to Cades Cove Loop Road, where families will be greeted by a guide. This free event in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park begins at 8:00pm and runs to 10:00pm.

It’s helpful to bring along a flashlight to see the footpaths. Some spring nights have been chilly Guides recommend you bring along water, as there are no drink machines along the way. Most importantly, families should wear comfortable walking shoes, hiking or tennis shoes, as there will be plenty of exploring during the two hour tour.
