Three jars of clear moonshine

Moonshine has deep roots in the Appalachian Mountains. In a time of economic trouble, the people of the area took to the hills to brew and sell their ‘shine. Today, three legal distilleries call downtown Gatlinburg home. If you’re interested in the history of the people who made moonshine famous and the brews themselves, a Gatlinburg moonshine tour can be a fun and informative half day adventure in the Smoky Mountains.
