Year after year, the Smoky Mountains continue to be a top destination for vacationers from around the country, and it’s no wonder! There are new and exciting restaurants and attractions popping up all the time. Be the first ones on the scene and experience all the fun these new places have to offer. To help you make the most of your trip, here are 4 new Smoky Mountain attractions that arrived in 2018.

1. Pigeon Forge Snow

Bring the whole family to Pigeon Forge Snow , America’s first indoor snow park! Experience one-of-a-kind snow tubing action as you race down the hills. Do you wanna build a snowman? Well, you can do it year-round in the Snow Play Area! There is also a second level with a snack bar, where you can watch your friends and family having all kinds of wintry fun. There are no additives of any kind in the snow, it’s 100 percent water and made fresh daily!

2. Alcatraz East Crime Museum: The Second Amendment Exhibit

The Second Amendment exhibit debuted on October 5, 2018, and will be open for one year in the Alcatraz Crime Museum. You will have the opportunity to learn about the laws that shaped this amendment and to see some rare firearms! The National Firearms Museum located in Fairfax, Virginia generously donated these special items. The temporary exhibit includes nearly two dozen artifacts that show the progression of firearms. Some of the highlights are pieces that have become synonymous with America itself, like the American Long Rifle. You can also take a look at a Spencer carbine, a repeating long gun from the Civil War, or the especially rare Porter Turret Rifle.

3. Cookie Dough Monster

Edible Cookie Dough isn’t the only thing this new Smoky Mountain restaurant has to offer. From gourmet grilled cheese and burgers to french toast and breakfast buns, Cookie Dough Monster has it all. Almost every food item in this restaurant is made from scratch, even their ketchup! There are plenty of options to choose from that are perfect for any meal of the day. They even have a kids menu that comes in handy if you have a picky eater on your hands.

4. The Checkered Flag Slot Car Racing

Enjoy a day at the race track when you visit The Checkered Flag Slot Car Racing. This slot car raceway is geared toward the auto and racing industry and is the only one of its kind for miles around. They offer 1/24 scale cars, and you can either build your own or purchase one and race it right out of the box. Enjoy the satisfaction and excitement of watching the car you just built come to life on the track! This fun and unique sport makes for some good old-fashioned competition that people of all ages will love.
