A Mountain QuiltFest is returning to the Smokies to C-E-L-E-B-R-A-T-E their 20th year! The much-anticipated Pigeon Forge event is a weekend-long celebration of everything quilts including lectures, classes, demonstrations, competitions, sales and more.

This year’s crafty Pigeon Forge event will be held March 19-22 at the brand new LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge. Offers over 60 inspirational classes, taught by talented quilters from all across the country, this year’s QuiltFest is definitely a ‘must-see’ for any quilt fan.

Following this year’s celebratory theme, quilters choosing to enter their works in this year’s competition will have the chance to win up to $20,000 in cash and prizes. Broken into over 10 categories, contestants can enter up to three quilts to be considered in the judging. Also, for a small fee, contestants can have their quilts judge by members of the National Quilters Association.

Admission to the 2014 Pigeon Forge QuiltFest is free for both contestants and viewers. Along with the stunning visuals from the beautifully hand-crafted quilts, guests will also expect to find a variety of fabric, thread, needles, and more.

Quilting is a large part of the rich mountain history in the Smokies. Since gaining in popularity in the late 1800’s, quilting has been an important way for crafters to tell stories and keep memories for generations to come.
