When and Where
The Oak Ridge Boys will perform two shows at the Country Tonite Theater on Saturday June 14, 2014. The first show begins at 3:00 p.m. and the second show starts at 8:00 p.m.
Way back in 1943, the band that would become the Oak Ridge Boys formed in Knoxville, Tennessee as Wally Fowler and the Georgia Clodhoppers. The group changed its name to the Oak Ridge Quarter (and later the Oak Ridge Boys) because of their frequent concerts in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, the birthplace of the atomic bomb. Although band members have come and gone over the years, the group’s connection to East Tennessee has always remained.
What to Expect
When you see the Oak Ridge Boys in Pigeon Forge, you’ll see the band’s most famous and successful lineup: Duane Allen, Joe Bonsall, William Lee Golden, and Richard Sterban. Together since 1973, this incarnation of the Oak Ridge Boys produced the group’s biggest crossover hits. You can expect to hear all of the classics, including “Elvira”, “Bobbie Sue”, “American Made” and many more. With over 40 years of songs to choose from, the Oak Ridge Boys always put on an unforgettable performance.
