Winter is one of the most magical times of the year to be in the Great Smoky Mountains! Whether it’s Christmas time or just a beautiful day in January, there is always something amazing going on during the winter months. We’ve put together seven of our favorite things about this wonderful season in the Smokies:

1. Holiday Lights

Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville all make a special effort to put up exceptional light displays for the enjoyment of local residents and visitors. A drive through any of these cities will definitely brighten your spirit. Check out our blog about The Best Way to See the Christmas Lights in Gatlinburg for more information.

2. Animal Tracks

Visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for some special seasonal hiking. Winter in the Smoky Mountains is the only time of the year that you can you watch wildlife by looking at the animal tracks in the snow. Be sure to bring an animal tracks identification sheet with you on your hike.

3. Romantic Getaways

Choose one of our honeymoon cabins in the Smoky Mountains for some winter romance. Enjoy snuggling on the sofa in front of a roaring fire, soaking in your hot tub, or swimming in your indoor heated pool.

4. Holiday Entertainment

The natural beauty of gentle snow falling on the Great Smoky Mountains is beyond description. Photo enthusiasts will definitely enjoy the opportunity to take some gorgeous pictures.

This is a wonderful time of the year to plan a family reunion in East Tennessee. We can offer you a large group cabin in the Smoky Mountains that sleeps up to 50 in complete comfort!
