When you are planning your vacation to the Smokies, plan to spend at least one day exploring Sevierville! This fun town, which is often referred to as the “gateway to the Smoky Mountains,” features plenty of exciting things to do that are incredibly affordable! Here are 4 cheap things to do in Sevierville TN:

1. Visit the Historic Downtown Area

One of the best cheap things to do in Sevierville TN is to take a stroll through the historic downtown area! This pleasant walk won’t cost you a dime, but don’t be surprised if you are tempted by some of the unique restaurants and specialty shops! The downtown area has been renovated in recent years and features a 1900s style appearance, complete with plenty of benches, streetlights and beautiful murals! Since Sevierville is Dolly Parton’s hometown, you won’t want to miss getting a picture of the Dolly statue on the front lawn of the Sevier County Courthouse!

2. Enjoy Wine Tasting at the Hillside Winery

The Hillside Winery brings the vineyards of Tuscany to the Great Smoky Mountains with Italian-style and celebratory wines! The selection ranges from traditional wines like Sangiovese to the award-winning Muscadine Mist, so there is truly something for every wine connoisseur when you experience one of the best cheap things to do in Sevierville TN! You can enjoy free wine tastings daily as long as you are at least 21 years old, and everyone in the family is welcome to take a tour of the winery! The Hillside Winery is part of Tennessee’s most popular wine trail, the Rocky Top Wine Trail, which includes partner wineries such as the Apple Barn Winery, Apple Barn Hard Cider Company, Apple Barn Dessert Wine Shoppe, and Mountain Valley Winery.

3. Visit a Covered Bridge

If you want an easy, free way to enjoy Sevierville's charm and scenery, visit one of the covered bridges in town! Harrisburg Covered Bridge was built in 1875 after a previous bridge in the same spot was washed away. It crosses the East Fork of the Little Pigeon River and cars can still drive across it today. Emert's Cove Covered Bridge was built in 2000 and named after Frederick Emert, one of the first people to settle in the area. Both of these spots are peaceful and great for taking photos, making them a must if you're looking for cheap things to do in Sevierville TN. It's a great way to combine the scenic magic of the mountains with a touch of history on your journey in the Smokies!
