Spaghetti ice is a German-style ice cream made to look like a plate of spaghetti when served. Stargazing in the Smoky Mountains

Starry night over the mountainsThere is nothing like stargazing in the Smoky Mountains, especially on those special nights when the sky is extremely clear. On these nights, The Smoky Mountains Astronomical Society (SMAS) and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park host “Star Parties”. These events are available to anyone who is interested in observing the spectacular night sky. The SMAS hosts star parties at four different locations, and the dates of the parties are based on moon phases. Cades Cove and the Newfound Gap Trailhead are two of the best places for stargazing in the Smokies.   Continue reading
