Millions of people return to the Smoky Mountains year after year because there is always something new to experience! In the past few months, a number of amazing attractions have opened in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN. Many of these attractions have been in the works for years. To help you make the most of your next vacation, Timber Tops Cabin Rentals has put together a convenient guide to five new things to do in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

1. Crave Golf Club

Playing putt-putt at Crave Golf Club is like visiting Candy Land! This dessert-themed mini golf destination features 38 holes filled with whimsical obstacles and decorations like gingerbread houses, chewing gum trees, and a juice box fountain. Guests at Crave will play through six “sweet” locations: Ice Cream Canyon, Sugar Safari, Cocoa Cliffs, Rock Candy Mountain, Jelly Bean Jungle, and Bubblegum Garden. In addition to its indoor and outdoor course, Crave Golf Club also features an incredible candy shop and milkshake bar.

2. Anakeesta

Anakeesta is quickly establishing itself as one of Gatlinburg’s can’t-miss attractions. Located in the hills overlooking The Strip, this unique attraction is home to a variety of treetop adventures, including dueling ziplines, a treehouse playground, a forest canopy walk, and wonderful shops and restaurants at Firefly Village. The only way to get to Anakeesta is via a fun chairlift or gondola ride that leaves from downtown Gatlinburg. Other highlights of Anakeesta include a gem mining station for kids and a single rail mountain coaster, which is set to open in 2018.

3. Gatlin’s Escape Games

Gatlin’s Escape Games is the ultimate group activity! When you visit this awesome attraction, you’ll be “locked” in a room and given 60 minutes to solve puzzles and complete challenges to make your way out. Gatlin’s flagship adventure, “The Legend of Atlantis,” is themed around a mysterious mission to the mythical lost continent. We recommend bringing as many friends and family members with you as possible because two (or eight) heads are better than one when it comes to beating this game.

4. Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show

Ahoy, matey! There’s a new show in town. You can now enjoy a pirate-themed show accompanied with a four-course pirate feast! The Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show features the Crimson and Sapphire crews battling on deck, on land, in the water and in the air above their full-sized pirate ships. There’ll be live animals, acrobatic competitions, original music and so much more. It’s unlike anything you’ve seen before!

And don’t forget the food — audience members will enjoy a mouthwatering, four-course feast featuring creamy vegetable soup, fried chicken, sugar-cured ham, homemade biscuits, sweet potato delight, signature macaroni and cheese and more. You’ll also have a peach turnover for dessert!

5. Rowdy Bear Mountain

Rowdy Bear Mountain is home to Gatlinburg’s newest thrill ride: the Gravity Coaster. Offering scenic vistas of the downtown area and the mountains, this awesome alpine coaster is built right into the foothills of the Smokies. The Gravity Coaster reaches a top speed of 30 miles per hour, but every cart includes a lever that passengers can use to slow down their ride. This extra degree of control makes the coaster great for kids and families. Each cart can fit two guests, and children as young as 3 years old (38” tall) can ride with an adult. Later this year, Rowdy Bear Mountain will introduce a Mountain Glider that will allow guests to soar through the sky like Superman.
