It blends thrilling ride elements with immersive lighting and sound to make you feel like you’re exploring the magic of the Great Smoky Mountains after dark. This indoor ride offers a fresh perspective and an unforgettable adventure that combines four unique experiences into one. With this family hybrid coaster and whitewater raft ride, you’ll soar over the Smokies, navigate river rapids, climb a mountain ridge, and float across a mysterious lake. It’s a ride you definitely won’t want to miss!

2. Harvey’s Boo Bash at Dollywood’s Harvest Festival

Dollywood is bringing even more new things to do in Pigeon Forge this fall! During Dollywood’s Harvest Festival, the theme park will be adding a new nighttime event, Harvey’s Boo Bash. This immersive, limited-capacity event will take place on select nights in October. It’s hosted by Dollywood’s loveable pumpkin character, Harvey, and provides a night of treats and one-of-a-kind entertainment. This is a separately ticketed event with exclusive activities such as candy collecting stations, unique food and merchandise offerings, and after-dark access to Great Pumpkin LumiNights and rides. Also new during the Harvest Festival this year is a dance party that will light up the night with festive fun!

3. Checkered Flag Slot Cars and R/C Complex

Motorsports fans will love the Checkered Flag Slot Cars and R/C Complex, one of the most unique new things to do near Pigeon Forge! This indoor attraction features high-speed slot car racing and remote-control tracks. This hands-on experience is great for rainy days or when you want a break from outdoor activities. It’s a unique addition to the area and a fun option for all ages! You can rent equipment or bring your own for an exciting day of friendly competition!

4. Anakeesta’s Newest Expansion

Anakeesta is expanding once again to offer even more exciting things to do in Gatlinburg! This year, the mountaintop attraction is adding a brand-new scenic lift, Crystal Express, which will have 56 cabins featuring glass floors and walls. This lift will replace the existing Chondola and provide a faster, more scenic ride to the top of Anakeesta. Fire Village is also getting reimagined, with whimsical walkways, water features, and a brand-new overlook. Additionally, the Treetop Skywalk is expanding, with new towers, bridges, and pathways that travel deeper into the forest canopy. Finally, a new nighttime experience will bring the magic of the Smoky Mountains’ synchronous fireflies to life all year long with state-of-the-art lighting and design.

5. Andy’s Frozen Custard

After a day of exploring all the new things to do in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, nothing hits the spot like a sweet treat! Andy’s Frozen Custard is coming to Pigeon Forge in 2026, giving you a new place to grab a frozen dessert. They offer rich frozen custard, concretes, sundaes, and seasonal treats that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth! With a convenient location on the main Parkway, this could easily become your new favorite dessert spot in Pigeon Forge!
