Pigeon Forge New Year’s Eve: 6 Fun Ways to Celebrate in a Pigeon Forge Cabin

Happy New Year 2015 fireworks writing
December 19, 2014

Everyone has their own way of celebrating the new year. This year, if you’re planning to celebrate in a Pigeon Forge cabin, take some of these ideas to make your New Year’s Eve party even more fun:

1. Set up a Special Party

At Timber Tops Cabin Rentals, we have a great selection of Pigeon Forge cabins. Each of them are very spacious, so you won’t have to worry about being crammed into a tiny room to celebrate the new year.

To make the evening special, set up a party with balloons, party hats and other festive additions. If you have kids, they will love it!

2. Have Foods for Snacking

Even a Pigeon Forge New Year’s Eve celebration needs snacks! Put together a few easy snacks that are a little bit different than your daily go-to snacks. Maybe make some hamburger sliders or put together a tasty Chex Mix. This gives everyone something to snack on throughout the evening, and clean up will be easy!

3. Make a Good Luck Cake or Good Luck Cupcakes

Have you ever heard of a ‘Good Luck Cake’ or even better, ‘Good Luck Cupcakes’? They’re really easy to make and can be a lot of fun for kids and adults. Just pick up a simple cake mix and some icing (and anything else you need to bake a cake) and you’ll be well on your way! After mixing up the cake batter and baking the cake or cupcakes, choose an item to hide in the cake (Many people choose a small item, like a penny. Make sure to clean it well!). Once the cake comes out of the oven, before you put the icing on it, choose a spot to insert the item.

Then, when you slice the cake or hand out the cupcakes, whoever gets the ‘special item’ in their piece is guaranteed good luck for the new year!

4. Countdown Gift Bags

Whether you have a group of kids or a group of adults, countdown gift bags can be a fun way to celebrate the new year. Put together a small gift bag for each hour. It can have fun toys, treats or other items to enjoy the hour.

Another idea is that the gift bags can give an idea for each hour. For example, maybe the 6 o’clock hour, everyone should spend time playing board games or competing at arcade games in one of our Pigeon Forge game room cabins. Maybe the 7 o’clock hour is the hour where you can spend some time in the hot tub. No matter how you set it up, gift bags can be a lot of fun and quite a surprise!

5. Roast Marshmallows

The countdown to midnight can be tiring for kids, so it’s important to keep everyone entertained. When the darkness begins to fall on the Smokies, you can head outside with roasting sticks and marshmallows (and even the things to make s’mores!).

Everyone can bundle up, head outside and sit around the fire for a little while. Take a look at our Pigeon Forge cabins with a firepit if you want to spend some time roasting marshmallows outside!

6. Toast to the New Year

Of course, one of the best parts of celebrating the new year is the champagne toast! But what about the kids? This year, try a milk and cookies toast for the kids! While you’re sipping on some bubbly champagne, the kids can enjoy a toast of milk and cookies!
